It arrived in a beautiful gift box with an instruction manual included. A mysterious bracelet is also included. Is it a bonus?
This watch, which is modeled after a pilot's watch, has Arabic numerals drawn in a circular pattern at 5-minute intervals up to 60, making it easy to read the minutes and seconds. This style of pilot watch typically has numbers from 1 to 12 arranged in a small circle around the inner edge, but this watch has omitted that to avoid excessively increasing the information content of the dial, giving it a clean look that could also be used as a dress watch, which is quite refreshing.
I thought that the disc was simply a flat, plain disc with scales and numbers printed on it, but the dial has a textured surface which I think is a nice touch.
The leather band feels a bit stiff, but it looks quite nice. However, for me, who have a small wrist, there weren't enough holes (the left side of the watch band in the attached image is the leather band from another watch I used to wear, and the right side is the band of this watch). Well, since it's leather, you could just use a punch to make a hole, but I don't have a square (or oval) punch, so I deducted one point.
I temporarily replaced it with a thin NATO strap that was lying around the room, and it transformed from a dress watch in the style of a pilot's watch into a rugged field watch. Well, it's a field watch that's only good for looks as it's only 3 ATM water-resistant and can't withstand harsh use.
The luminous paint is applied not only to the hour and minute hands, but also to the minute and second markings (the attached image was taken with a smartphone immediately after shining a flashlight on the dial, so the luminous effect may appear slightly uneven, but in reality it shines evenly). The second hand does not light up.
I haven't tested the glow time yet, but it looks promising.
Pilot watch with a large, highly visible color-coded dial and easy-to-read thick hour and minute hands. I originally thought it was a design intended for young people, but if you like the minute-by-minute display, it might be suitable for older people with severe presbyopia as well.
